The next batch for our British English-to-American English dictionary consists of an array of terms related to random supplies–the sorts of things you’d find at Walgreens in the States or Boots in the UK.

cotton bud = cotton swab / Q-Tip

jab = shot (as in a flu shot or some other vaccine, which Boots does not sell, but will offer during flu season)

plaster = bandage / Band-Aid

pastille = lozenge

sellotape = Scotch tape

Tipp-Ex = White-Out

welly (slang) = condom (named after the rubber Wellington boots widely popular in the UK)
