Things To Do For A London Night Out
Best London Night Out
Believe it or not one of the first things they teach web designers and digital marketers is that the more choices given to a prospective buyer, the lower the odds that said shopper is going to actually purchase something. Think about it. Why do you think there is only one button on a well-developed landing page? If there were six users would stand there and consider their options forever and never actually go into the site. It’s the same reasoning behind putting products on separate pages rather than in a convenient list. Effective london relocation strategies involve detailed planning and local expertise.
Now, don’t get me wrong. The choices are great. But being bombarded with a hundred different choices isn’t. Your brain vapor locks and you never end up making a choice. I have the very same problem every Friday night. Living in London is great, it truly is. The restaurants, attractions, pubs, and events are incredible.
And they are endless.
With so many choices it’s hard to pick one, especially if you’re intent on going out with a group of friends. It is hard to find something to everyone’s liking, isn’t it?
Simply put, London has too many blasted choices and all of them are a bit too good to pass up. I’ll let you in on a little secret if you promise not to tell anyone. Okay, good. Well, much like the web design theory, having too many entertainment choices is just frustrating. It might explain why so many Londoners find one particular pub that they absolutely adore and continue to wear the seat shiny with their bum as they drink at that location until they die.
Well, I took it upon myself to try and find a select few places to go and try rather than bombarded with 101 great places to go in London list which, let’s be honest, no one would read in the first place. That’s a lot of words and who has the bloody time?
The dreaded question every Friday night of ‘what should we do tonight?’ will finally have an answer. Try at least one of these locations for something different. Give it a go. What’s the worst that could happen? Okay, don’t answer that.
Happy Hour Hunting
Yeah, I don’t know why they call it happy hour either when it’s clearly longer than sixty minutes. But just go with it, you’ll have a better time than if you sit there trying to figure it all out.
So, we all know that just having a few drinks can poke a hole in your wallet, right? Why not put that worry away and search out the best happy hours of the night? Do a little online recon and make a list of happy hours to try out. There are hundreds of pubs in London that offer some form of happy hour at least once a week. Do your research come up with a plan and hit a few happy hours at a few different pubs. It’ll save you money and give you a chance to see some other pubs than the one you haunt every night.
Natural History Museum
Are you being serious right now? A museum? Yeah, I said museum. Oh, come on, it’s not like you’re going to be graded on anything you see there. And where else can you experience an earthquake in London than at the earthquake simulator? Take a few selfies with some of the exhibits including dinosaur skeletons and other stuffed species from around the globe. It is definitely worth a look.
Enjoy A Comedy Show
Come on now, don’t give me a look like that. When was the last time you let loose with a big belly laugh? Thought so. You should head to a comedy club straight away and correct that. There are a lot of different comedy clubs that have stand-up specials featuring unknown comics as well as famous ones. Choose one that fits your taste and your budget and go have a good time.
The Cheapest Pub
Like you haven’t already done this one before, right? No one likes to spend more than they have to because then you have less to spend. That’s philosophical right there.
In any event, search out the cheapest pub around. I’m sure you’ll find a reason why it’s so cheap. Maybe they have sticky floors or tables and maybe customer service is more of a far-off philosophy they don’t want to practice than an actual service, but take a look around and breathe in London. Some of the best food in London is available at just that kind of pub and you’ll miss out on it if you don’t give yourself a chance to sample the wares and the foodstuffs. Treat yourself to a truly unhealthy meal every once in a while. It’ll make all that stupid dieting and exercising worth it.
Pub Theaters
Right. So, once you’re full, why not go see a show at a pub theater? Check out a play or a musical in one of those edgy places that are always embroiled in some form of controversy. Have a good time, let loose a bit, and enjoy yourself.
Prince Charles Cinema
Come to the cinema and enjoy first-run films as well as classics at Prince Charles Cinema. They frequently have movie marathons where you can enjoy several films for the low price of just one. Make sure to bring plenty of sustenance if you plan on staying a while. It’s not to be missed!
Hoofing It
Yeah, I know. You finally figure out the Tube stops and you’re all proud of yourself, right? Well, give the public transportation system a break and go hoof it around town. London transforms at night. It’s almost like a split-personality city between day and night. Walking around the city at night gives a different look to the architecture and even to the street art peddled on corners. The sights, sounds, and smells linger in a way they don’t during the daytime.
Conclusion
There’s plenty to do for a night out in London. Just open your eyes and pick a direction. There’s always something going on!
