Sainsbury’s

In-Store Shopping

While Sainsbury’s does still have store hours, and customers are welcome to come in during normal business hours, there are specific rules customers need to abide by. These guidelines consist of social distancing at all times. Customers must wear a mask or visor at all times. They also ask that customers shop alone instead of in groups. Sainsbury’s also limits the number of people allowed in at one time.

Digital Reach

There are various ways Sainsbury’s has improved their technology for the betterment of the customer experience.

  1. Sainsbury’s has improved their digital reach with various programs to improve customer’s shopping experience without having to set foot in their store. One of these is known as Click and Collect. They are working toward having 800,000 weekly slots available for pickup times for both new and existing customers.
  2. Elderly and Vulnerable Customers have priority access to online orders. While our online orders are still delivered without bags so we can service a great number of customers, our staff can help the elderly place their items into bags for their convenience.
  3. Sainsbury’s also offers telephone ordering for those vulnerable shoppers who do not have online access.
  4. Increasing the number of Click and Collect slots for more efficient pickup experiences for customers.
  5. The Volunteer Shopping Card allows people to shop in place of vulnerable customers or customers who may be incapacitated in some way.
  6. Sainsbury’s offers Delivery Pass cards which offer savings on the delivery charges associated with having groceries delivered. These can be bought for lengths of time, such as six or twelve months.

Online Ordering

Rest assured, customers are still able to shop the entire inventory of Sainsbury’s. That’s right, there are no limitations to the items customers can buy.

Here are some items to consider:

  • Meat and fish
  • Dairy and eggs
  • Fruits and vegetables
  • Dietary and lifestyle

Tesco delivers seven days a week, so no matter what day best works for the customer, there are options available. This is a huge benefit because it tailors the shopping experience for the customer.
  2. Tesco offers free deliveries seven days a week as long as the customer’s order meets a minimum amount to allow customers to stay home and not have to venture out. This is great for those vulnerable or elderly customers who struggle with mobility.
  3. Clubcard points are collected with every Delivery Saver payment, which can be applied for discounts on future purchases.
  4. Click and Collect options with over 400 locations across the country allow customers to choose a time slot that best works with their given schedule. This allows customers to place their order online and come to their nearest Tesco location, and their order is already collected and ready for them to pick up upon arrival.
