And here’s the best part: the service does not end there!
I was initially a bit apprehensive about using a re-location service, but a few moments Googling the complexities of finding houses to rent in London, I thought I need to make this someone else’s problem, and Mat Paramor LOVES problems. It was very easy to do, over e-mail Mat figured out my needs (based on cost, living requirements, space, dependents etc. ), and after a series of chats with me over the phone he figured out the right suburbs we should be looking at and why. But where the relocation team really come into their element is on “viewing day”. Mat painstakingly put together a list of 30 (yes 30!!!) houses to go through in one day, houses that matched my budget, preferences and in the area’s that best suited me (I’m still amazed how he figured that out). They arm you with a notebook, your camera phone and a pen, and with Mat acting like the Consiglieri from Godfather, you visit all the places on his list and whittle it down to your top 3-5. I have to mention that this is no easy task, and your relocation guide will keep you completely on track and focused. He does most of the talking, leaving you to the important part, decision making! Once you make your decision, all you have to do is tell the team “I want this one”, and the rest they take care of, from low balling rent offers, to working on break clauses in contracts, helping you put through the payments and having you not have to deal with frustratingly immature and inept real estate agents, basically they take all your problems, leaving you to worry about how you are going to move all your stuff in. And here’s the best part, the service does not end there, I’ve been pestering Mat with a billion questions (which he’s going to hate me for mentioning here because it’s potentially going to open him up to a flooded inbox), question from “what exactly does furnished mean?”, “what size bed does the apartment have” etc, and without fail Mat comes through with a response time that would make the Queen’s Royal Guard pale at. So a big thanks to the relocation team, you guys have made this move a HEAP easier and I’m really glad you guys love problems. Very much appreciate it.
