Move over, Silicon Valley. Recently, London has become a major technology hub. Between 2009 and 2012, the number of tech companies in London grew by 76 percent. These companies have congregated in a cluster in an area of East and Central London known as East London Tech City.
Tech City has the third-largest cluster of tech startups in the world after San Francisco and New York City. The meteoric growth of Tech City has created thousands of jobs for tech professionals looking to relocate to London. In fact, Oxford Economics estimates that London will add 46,000 digital jobs to its economy in the next decade. Switch Concepts revolutionized the advertising industry when it came up with the concept of real-time bidding on online advertising space. Rather than buying in bulk, companies using Switch can buy space instantly when certain visitors log onto web pages. From 2009 to 2014, Switch’s sales increased by an impressive 10,477 percent.
