If you are searching for a property to rent there are some aspects of living in London that you need to factor into your search.

  • Work location: You need to find out exactly where you are going t be working. Most people in London use the public transport system to get to and from work, and you’ll have to decide which route you will be taking to get to work. London rental properties are more expensive the closer you are to the city centre and the major financial district.
  • School location: If you have children they will only be able to attend a school in the neighborhood in which you live. All schools are zoned and the zone borders can be quite rigid. To attend some of the better schools, you’ll have to live in some of the more pricey areas. Ask your London relocation agent about good schools and good value homes in each area. If you’re going private, it doesn’t matter where you live, but you’ll have to figure out the transport system that your children will se to get to school.
  • If you are renting an apartment, you’ll have a fair bit of paperwork to get through. You may be asked for a holding deposit, which will ensure that you have some time to decide on whether or not you want the house. You’ll also have to have a bank account set up, and your documentation from home, as well as a letter from your new employer.
