Many Americans look forward to living in London but mistakenly believe the food England’s capital city is bland and tasteless.  Nothing could be farther from the truth! London is a vibrant city comprised of citizens from around the world, all bringing their own cultural influences.  At times, language barriers and traditions might be at odds with the British and visiting Americans, but their food is always welcomed and enjoyed.  While living here American expats should take advantage of the many ethnicities calling England home and partake of their exquisite cuisine.

For those living in or around North London a visit to Coco Bamboos in Camden is a must.  This modern restaurant is home to the best South American dishes one can find in London.  Their menu is impressive and all reviews rave of their delectable appetizers and main dishes.  Some of the favorite menu items are as follows:  Curry Goat, Jerk Chicken, and Feijoada (traditional Brazilian dish with a black bean stew base seasoned with pork and spices, served over rice).  Those patrons wishing to enjoy a cocktail can experience a South American favorite – Caipirinhas.  Many variations on their signature drink are available.  They also have a well-appointed bar and impressive wine list.

What night would be complete without some music?  Coco Bamboo features live Samba and Bossa Nova bands transporting guests to the tropical Caribbean for a night of great food and great music.  Reviewers of Coco Bamboo all agree that the atmosphere of the restaurant couldn’t be better and is the perfect place to escape the cold, gray reality of a winter’s evening.

After spending days searching flats, changing time zones and going through the hassle of moving continents every American expat should take a break and retreat to the Caribbean for a night of excellent food, drink and entertainment.  For those unfamiliar with Camden the best way to get to Coco Bamboo is by Tube.  The nearest stations are Camden Road and Camden Town.  Visiting a restaurant featuring some of London’s transplanted flavor is a great way to discover all the city has to offer while living in London.
